Major Mountain Range
India has seven major mountain ranges, and they are higher than 1000 meters. However, the most major mountain range is the Himalayas Mountains. Himalayas Mountain Ranges includes high mountains that are more than 8000 meters high. It includes the world's most highest mountain in the world. It is the Mount Everest. Mount Everest is located at the edge of the Tibetan Plateau. Mount Everest is 8,848 meters tall, and that is 29,029 feet tall. It is so tall that it can be seen from the space. However, this high and huge mountain range affects the climate and temperature in India.
Major River
There are tons of rivers in India. Ganga River, Tapi River, and Indus River are very big rivers. However, the most major and the most important river in India is the Ganges River. It is one of the largest river in the world. Also this river is very important in this country because it is the Holy River of Hinduism. Over 93% of the people in India believe in religions. And 80.5% of the population believe in Hinduism. The Ganges River is the sacred sites for them. Though, many people take baths in this river. Therefore, this river is abnormally polluted. In Hinduism, it is said that the holy water from the Ganges River cures any kind of disease, however, scientifically, this cannot be true.
Major Climate Zone
In summer, Southeastern Asia is affected by the monsoon, and India is included also. It continues to rain during the summer. But, as I mentioned before, the high mountain range, the Himalayas Mountains affect its climate. The mountains are so high that rain shadow effect happens very easily. Rain shadow effect is an effect that happens on the leeward side of a mountain range, and the area becomes very dry. Therefore, India is not a water rich country.
